We have recently hosted a ColourWorks session involving members of both site teams and office staff. This session brought together a diverse group, with a range of roles, experiences and working styles, aiming to improve communication and collaboration across TSL.

The ColourWorks framework explores how individuals think, communicate and approach their work using; Fiery Red, Earth Green, Cool Blue, and Sunshine Yellow to highlight behaviours and decision-making. By taking part in this session, everyone had a chance to reflect on their own preferences while also gaining a clearer understanding of how others approach tasks, challenges and day-to-day interactions.

Having such a varied group involved made the session particularly valuable. The blend of perspectives really highlighted how our roles and working styles can complement each other when there is good communication and mutual understanding.

One of the key outcomes gained from the ColourWorks session was the numerous lightbulb moments people had, about themselves and others. This session gave greater awareness of how their communication style impacts others, as well as practical ways to adapt approaches to suit different situations and team dynamics.

Overall, the ColourWorks team session was well received and aligned strongly with TSL’s commitment to building not only high-quality projects but strong and effective teams too.
