Supporting our local
communities
We’re fundraising for two local charities: Nerve Tumours UK (Hampshire, IOW and Dorset) and Abby’s Heroes to support the care they are giving to our Head of Technical, Dan Jarnak, and his family. Dan’s 2-year-old daughter, Evie, was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis (NF1) in November 2022, a genetic condition which is causing tumours to grow on Evie’s optic nerves.
Nerve tumours uk
Nerve Tumours UK are the only UK charity leading research into NF1. They provide Specialist Nurses to care for NF patients and to provide support to their families. Our fundraising will support the care that Evie receives from the Hampshire, IOW and Dorset Specialist Nurse, Tracey.
Abby’s Heroes
Abby’s Heroes supports the patients and families of the Piam Brown and Teenage and Young Adult units in Southampton General Hospital, where Evie is receiving a 70-week programme of chemotherapy. Her weekly chemotherapy is to stunt the growth of her tumours, and to protect her eyesight from further deterioration.
