Racing Ahead At The Great South Run 2023

A huge congratulations to our three amazing runners for conquering Portsmouth’s Great South Run on Sunday 15 October! Strategic Partnership Director Lewis Jones, Estimator Matt Oaten, and Head of People and Culture Stacey Gearey each completed the 10 miles to raise money for our two nominated charities, Nerve Tumours UK, and Abby’s Heroes. Matt Oaten, Estimator, commented: “I loved taking part in the Great South Run, it’s a great opportunity to raise money for two incredible charities. I also completed The Three Peaks Challenge in September, so it’s great to help add to our fundraising totals. Stacey Gearey, Head of People and Culture said: “I’ve always wanted to complete the Great South Run so this was a fantastic opportunity to do so. Three Peaks Challenge – 2023

Our intrepid explorers take on the Three Peaks Challenge! September 2023 The toughest of the TSL team took on the Three Peaks Challenge to fundraise for our two charity partners: Nerve Tumours UK and Abby’s Heroes. The team started in Scotland, taking on all 1,345m of Ben Nevis at 5am before heading to hike 978m of Scafell Pike and then 1085m of Snowdon. It was a total of 23 miles to hike, and the challenge was to complete all three mountains plus the travelling within 24 hours. Team Captain Connor Hounsell said: “It was definitely a trip to remember. Our knees ached and we were shattered, but we did it, and saw some incredible views. TSL’s New Director – Dan Jarnak

Meet our newest Director, Dan Jarnak, who has been promoted to Technical Director We’re very excited to announce that Dan Jarnak has been promoted to Technical Director, joining Managing Director Dexter Copeland, Commercial Director Connor Hounsell and Strategic Partnership Director Lewis Jones on the Board. We had the pleasure of announcing Dan’s promotion at our recent team day at the Goodwood Estate. It was as much of a shock for Dan as it was for everyone else to see him lost for words. Dan joined us as Head of Technical in 2021 having worked in technical construction design for 18 years. He has led our Design Team through some of our biggest projects to date with his skills and expertise. When he found the words, Dan said of his promotion: “I am honoured to be entrusted with this new responsibility, … Continue reading

TSL Visits Goodwood – 2023 Team Day

We gathered our wonderful team together for a day out at the beautiful Goodwood Estate in Chichester. Our team has grown considerably over the past year, and we’ve been lucky enough to gain new faces in our office team and at most of our major project sites, so it was a great opportunity to get everyone together for a day of fun. A team of golfers spent the day tackling 18 holes, while the non-golfers turned their hands to clay pigeon shooting. It wouldn’t be a TSL Team Day without a few awards, so Managing Director Dexter Copeland had the pleasure of announcing the winners before dinner. Congratulations to: Contract Manager Chris Armstong – Nearest to the Pin Commercial Manager Ross Johnson – Longest Drive Head of Major Projects Shaun Richards – Individual Stableford Winner Small Works Operative Dan Grainger … Continue reading

Meet Our 2023 Charity Partners

This year the TSL team are fundraising for two charities very close to our hearts: Nerve Tumours UK and Abby’s Heroes. In 2022, our Technical Director Dan Jarnak and his family were introduced to the charities after his 2-year-old daughter, Evie, was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis. The condition, known as NF1, is a genetic condition that causes tumours to grow anywhere around the body. Evie has tumours on her optic nerves which are affecting her eyesight. She is severely visually impaired as a result, and here’s where the two charities have been supporting Evie, Dan and his wife, Rachel. Evie’s NF1 Journey Dan said: “Evie’s journey began when the birthmarks we thought she had been confirmed as café au lait spots, which are a common first symptom on Neurofibromatosis type 1, or NF1 as it’s often known. Her diagnosis of NF1 … Continue reading
